It's raining, dogs don't want to go out.

Our old sofa has become our most used piece of furniture these past couple of days. Just after the day, a couple of weeks ago that we decided the old sofa was OK for teenage son and dogs, the rain has come.

It has been raining off and on for over a week, and we have had many millimetres of rain in our rain gauge. The grass is growing back and because the dogs are staying inside, La De is not wreaking his usual havoc on our back lawn. Woo Hoo!

The pharaoh hounds in particular are enjoying the sofa, because our old schnauzer, Rangler. does not dare to get up there, and Nena, our younger schnauzer is safely locked away in the crate, when the dominant pharaoh hound, Ananka, can't get her.

It's peaceful, it's raining, all is good in our world. OH, except our old pharaoh hound, Kharis decided to get on the newer sofa this morning, and Graham, my husband, had to give him a stern talking to. He won't do that again, I don't think, not now that he realises we don't want him to. You have to let your dogs know what you expect of them, and then they usually will play by your rules.

  1. Must be the difference in breeds, but my spaniels just love being out in the rain. Luckily I have no grass anymore so the garden doesn't suffer - but being in the UK, I guess we are a little more used to rain than you are in Australia :).

  2. That's funny! I thought having three children was bad enough. There are definitely parallels between training dogs and kids though. When we got our new sofa I said no eating on it not ever, never! Of course, that only lasted a day and now every time I sit on it it's covered in crumbs. Hmm, sounds like I need some advice for you - what parents can learn from dog trainers?!

  3. Hey, thanks for your comments. The dog breeds certainly are different. Our Schnauzers don't mind the rain as much as the Pharaoh Hounds do. PHs have thin coat, Schnauzers have far more coat, so that makes sense. Some PHs love the water though. They're like people, and they all have their funny ways.

  4. Rain wow i love raining day.
But the season of rain is very sensible because in this season disease are spreads widely. Therefore we should be very careful in this season. Stop Dog Chewing
